Hans Christian Andersen Series

This was an unusual minimalist take on book covers for a collection of Hans Christian Andersen short stories. I designed a series of covers that are of a  completely different time and era, while preserving the geographical connection to Denmark by employing Nordic-inspired design elements. The slipcase is made of textile, which is also a reference to the Scandinavian craft. I was able to pinpoint key items and objects that held a lot of value within the stories and used them as anchor points for the illustrations. The spine of the covers contains the most important elements of the plots, and the books are easily distinguishable when put together in a slipcase.
